Voice Referendum Date
Today Prime Minister Anthony Albanese set the date for the referendum on the indigenous Voice to Parliament at Sat 14 Oct 2023.
Humanists Australia urge our members, and all Australians who are committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable society, where Indigenous Australians have a genuine voice and a meaningful role in shaping their own future, to vote YES in the referendum.

World Humanist Congress
Humanists Australia’s CEO Mary-Anne Cosgrove, and Life Member David Cosgrove attended the General Assembly and World Humanist Congress in Copenhagen from August 3 to August 6, along with over 400 humanists from around the world. Norway, a country whose Humanists enjoy financial support from the state, was particularly well represented, as were the US and Africa. This was the first congress since 2014. The theme of the congress was Building better democracies through humanist values.
HA Environment Challenge: Plastic Free July
A new month marks a new focus for the Humanists Australia Environment Challenge. July also marks the end of the challenge, and to bring it to a close we are focusing on Plastic Free July. Keeping our environment clean is not just about recycling plastics. It involves making every effort we can to refuse single-use plastics.
