Humanist Awards

These prestigious awards recognise outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting humanism, secularism, and the betterment of society through reason, compassion, and ethical principles.

Australian Humanist of the Year

Australian Humanist of the Year (AHOY) is awarded annually to an Australian who has made an outstanding contribution to public life, consistent with Humanist principles and values.

Young Australian Humanist of the Year

Young AHoY is awarded up to once a year, to an Australian under the age of 35, who has made an outstanding contribution to public life, consistent with Humanist principles and values.

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award (LAA) is awarded to an Australian who over their lifetime has made an outstanding contribution to public life, consistent with Humanist principles and values, and who passed away in the 12 months prior to the close of award nominations in that year.

Outstanding Humanist Achiever

The Outstanding Humanist Achiever (OHA) award honours Humanists who have volunteered for one or more Humanist organisations and made a substantial contribution to furthering humanism.
