The value of a book beyond its price

At Humanists Australia we found this article especially interesting because it's discussing the broader impact of the ground breaking book "Dark Emu", written by our 2021 Australian Humanist of the Year, Bruce Pascoe.

As the author says, their work in measuring Dark Emu’s impact over a five-year period offers interesting future possibilities:
Possibilities for how we might measure and articulate a broader set of value dimensions in relation to Australian books. The question of what a book might really be worth can – and should – be answered across multiple dimensions.”

As Western society struggles to move to a post-neo-liberal world, and to define the value of things (and lives?) in better ways than a number of dollars, these authors suggest a multifaceted approach.

Does it help?
