Humanists Australia welcomes three new Board members

Humanists Australia is delighted to announce a new and expanded Board of Directors following the Annual General Meeting on Thursday the 17th November 2022.  Three new Directors were ratified during the AGM, with Mary-Anne Cosgrove, Sue James and Josie Ludwig joining Rod Bower and Collin Acton (OAM). 

 

Mary-Anne Cosgrove

Mary-Anne is one of the founders of Humanists Australia, and a leader of the Canberra Humanist Community. She was the first Chair of Humanists Australia and has been involved in the Australian Humanist movement since 2015. Aside from humanism, Mary-Anne is a senior software engineer for Covidence, a not-for-profit organisation with a platform for facilitating scientific reviews.

 

Sue James

Sue James is passionate about supporting the mission and aims of Humanists Australia.  She has previously held both voluntary and staff positions in both Humanists Victoria and most recently Humanists Australia.  She is a Certified Appreciative Inquiry Practitioner - a strengths-based and generative approach to leadership development and organisational change that fundamentally aligns with Humanism and humanist values.  In addition to this Sue brings a wealth of experience in consulting, training and facilitation having worked in numerous NFP, SME and community based businesses.

 

Josie Ludwig

Josie Ludwig has a long history with humanism in Australia having previously held positions on the Humanists Victoria and Humanists Australia Boards. With an extensive career in finance and accounting Josie is an expert in cloud accounting and business consulting.  She is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Services for Resimax one of the most dynamic and diversified property groups in Australia.  Her previous roles include consulting accountant as well as small business owner leading a staff of 15.

 

Humanists Australia welcome the new Board members and thank the retiring Board members Rod Hill, Ian McKerracher and Alisdair Girling for their service and leadership to date.
