Keep a small number in your bag in case you need to go shopping and have forgotten to bring your non-throwaway shopping bags with you;
When you buy food at the deli or butcher ask them to wrap the food up in butcher’s paper without putting it in a plastic bag first and then place it in your own plastic bag;
Use more robust plastic bags for shopping and storage;
Take plastic bags when you go swimming to store wet bathers and towels;
Use plastic bags when packing to cover shoes, store wet bathroom items like shower caps, soap, toothbrushes etc or anything that might leak;
Use plastic bags to store your dirty washing in your suitcase when travelling;
Line your wastepaper bins with a plastic bag;
Keep some plastic bags in the glovebox of the car for rubbish;
Use plastic bags to pick up dog poo when you take your dog for a walk, or as gloves when you have to pick up any mess;
